Your Role in the Company

By decorating gardens with stones and plants. Following planned landscaping designs to determine where to lay sod, sow grass, or plant flowers and foliage. Maintain irrigation systems. Cultivate lawns and gardens. May build forms and mix and pour cement to form garden borders. Install drainage systems, irrigation systems, retaining walls, fences, and planters under direction of landscaping consultant and/or Director of Maintenance.

Key Elements of your Job

• By maintaining and repairing tools, equipment, and structures such as buildings, greenhouses, fences, and benches, using hand and power tools.
• By caring for established lawns by mulching, aerating, weeding, grubbing and removing thatch, and trimming and edging around flower beds, walks, and walls.
• Mixing and spray or spread fertilizers, herbicides, or insecticides onto grass, shrubs, and trees, using hand or automatic sprayers or spreaders.
• Mowing and edging lawns, using power mowers and edgers.
• Planting seeds, bulbs, foliage, flowering plants, grass, ground covers, trees, and shrubs, and apply mulch for protection, using gardening tools.
• Prune and trim trees, shrubs, and hedges, using shears, pruners, or chain saws.

Physical Demands:

The employee is frequently required to stand and sit; occasionally required to smell. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Minimum 1-year verifiable experience working in lawn and yard maintenance. Commercial experience preferred.
