HERFF JONES, Fine Papers Graphic Artist – Indianapolis, IN
The Fine Papers Graphic Artist will be responsible for creating and updating the traditional and electronic art used to create the highest quality foil, lithographic, and digital work for diplomas and graduation announcements to support the Herff Jones Fine Papers product division in Indianapolis, IN. This individual will also create highly detailed drawings of school crests and seals, mascots, and building architecture. Strong communication, verbal, writing, and organizational, design and drawing skills are necessary. A strong focus on quality, detail, and an ability to balance priorities is key to operating successfully in the role. The ideal candidate is a committed, positive team player with a long-term career outlook. The Fine Papers Graphic Artist reports to the Fine Papers Art Operations Manager.

KEY REPONSIBILITIES
Execute all art processes thoroughly and correctly, prepared within production parameters according to department standard operating procedures (SOPs)
Collaborate with other artists and internal clients to complete art requests and ensure efficient, on-time delivery of artwork and designs
Effectively present information in email and platform-driven communication to customers, sales partners, and internal account managers
Create physical hand-drawn art of school buildings and mascots for use on graduation materials (announcements, diplomas, etc.)
Create and edit digital art for use in the engraving and other processes
Build positive relationships with customers and sales partners by delivering quality proofs and mockups
Maintain a positive working environment through professional and friendly behavior with all co-workers, leads, supervisors and managers
Follow workflows in accordance with department SOPs
Other tasks as outlined by the Art Operations Manager and Art Team Lead
CORE REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
Knowledge of color theory, design, and printing methods are required
Strong technical abilities in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop required; minimum two years of experience with Illustrator preferred
A strong working knowledge of the Windows operating systems
Basic Microsoft Office 365 experience preferred
Experience in production-ready art, including color separations is helpful
Basic understanding of offset lithography and silk-screen printing is helpful
Strong creativity and design skills and ability to apply them in a timely manner
Organized and detail-oriented; able to suggest process improvements where needed
Able to manage deadlines in a fast-paced setting; great time management skills
Self-motivated with little direction necessary; a desire to constantly learn and improve
Excellent spelling, writing, and proofreading skills
Willing and able to take on new responsibilities and tasks as requested
Must be able to work all hours as needed, including overtime and weekends
Assist co-workers and willingly share knowledge
