St. Vincent de Paul Society of Lane County, Inc. is seeking to hire a full-time accounting team member. This role takes primary responsibility for the processing of grant draws as well as the invoicing for our funding agencies. This position may also be responsible for maintaining and tracking information for the Schedule of Federal Awards and Expenditures (SEFA). This role is strictly related to the accounting aspects of our grants, as the organization has others who are both grant writers and program managers. This position will interact with outside agencies and internal staff. The position will have other duties assigned as required by the organization.

This role works with program managers and will have the opportunity to learn about compliance of the OMB uniform guidance and funding source guidelines as well as the timely and accurate submission of financial reporting as needed. This position will ensure that the grant accounting transactions are handled in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and in a timely manner.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform a variety of accounting tasks such as grant draws, invoice funding to donor agencies, contract reconciliation, review of entries and documentation, revenue recognition, and development of information to support budget processes
  • Perform monthly grant billing and ensures fiscal compliance
  • Coordinate with key personnel at all levels of the organization to support proper and timely expenditure of grant funds in compliance with applicable guidelines and budget deadlines
  • Provide reports, compile and analyze data and statistics
  • Ensure the timely reporting of all monthly financial information relating to grants
  • Perform A/P duties for First Place Family Center

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • One year accounting environment desirable but not necessary
  • Knowledge of accounting principles desirable but not necessary
  • Experience with accounting software desirable but not necessary
  • Work independently, as well as part of a team, to carry out assignments to completion
  • Computer literacy sufficient to operate spreadsheet and word processing applications (i.e., Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint)

Wage: $20.20-$22.60 per hour. Medical, Dental & Vision, paid time off, and employee discount after 3 months. Vacation after 12 months. Holiday pay after 3 months.
