Glass Handling Specialist
Nonexempt
Reports to: Branch Manager
Position Summary:
The Glass Handling Specialist is an essential job function to the success of Mygrant Glass. Glass Handling Specialists operate material handling equipment to select, stock, and organize product as well as hand-handle materials to stage at appropriate load sites. Glass Handling Specialists are responsible for timely and accurately selecting and stocking product to best achieve key performance indicators, directly impacting our customer service oriented goals.
Essential Responsibilities:

Receive and select incoming pick tickets using RFID technology.

Retrieve orders according to quantity, size etc. ensuring accuracy.

Re-stock and select inventory manually or with warehouse equipment.

Enter bin locations using proprietary inventory software.

Keep records of completed restocks and orders.

Handle company assets safely to minimize damage to product

Manually lift product up to 75 lbs.

Aid in prepping, inspecting, labeling and loading as needed to maintain KPI objectives.

Communicate with team members using walkie-talkies
-
Maintain equipment and report on malfunctions
-
Adhere to health & safety policies and quality standards
-
Break down boxes, stock accessories and organize inventory as directed

Assist in maintaining appearance of branch as needed. Clean warehouse, counter area, etc.

Perform other job tasks as assigned.
Requirements :
-
Experience in a warehouse environment with exposure to MHEs
-
Familiar with modern warehouse software
-
Ability to read and write in English
-
Detail oriented with a mind for accuracy
-
Exceptional time management skills, punctual with stellar attendance
-
A beginner’s mindset that is coachable and open to feedback
-
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
-
Ability to work cohesively as part of a team, and or take direction in an ever-changing working condition
EDUCATION AND LICENSING REQUIREMENTS:
-
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
-
Valid driver’s license
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
This position requires close visual acuity to perform activities such as: viewing a computer terminal/mobile device; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts; Ability to perceive the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels, and making fine discriminations in sound; Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Must have finger grip strength to properly handle glass. Must be able to remain in a stationary position and/or upright, for prolonged periods of time, traverse stairs, maneuver in tight spaces, reach overhead, squat, bend, kneel, stoop, and crouch occasionally during 8-10-hour work shift.
