If you love ice cream and enjoy the thought of working with a family-owned and operated, local business, please consider applying. We are looking for an organized, relationship-oriented General Manager to lead our fast-paced, flagship State Street ice cream shoppe.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Manage and lead the operations of the shoppe by:

• Hiring, training, leading, supervising and motivating a team of scoopers, and acting as a resource for employee questions and concerns
• Maximizing revenue through creating stellar experiences for guests, promoting fantastic service, and through proper team scheduling
• Minimizing costs by training and supervising proper portioning and product handling
• Tracking product inventory and keeping it safe and organized
• Generating product purchase orders based off inventory levels and projected sales
• Creating shift schedules for employees
• Acting as first respondent to emergencies or staff shortages
• Counting and reconciling registers, the shoppe safe, and preparing deposits
• Resolving customer complaints and concerns, and knowledgably answer questions
• Actively working to develop and implement new systems to increase efficiency, sales and interest in the store, and communicate ideas and efforts with the rest of the Madison management team
• Attending and contribute to monthly manager meetings, and communicate the needs and status of the store to the rest of the management team

In this working position, lead the scoopers by example with:

• Ensuring high customer satisfaction by being knowledgeable on products and serving customers with excellent customer service, efficiency and accuracy
• Communicating fully, clearly and respectfully with co-workers and customers
• Being receptive and attentive to customer needs
• Greeting guests as they enter the shoppe
• Processing customer transactions quickly and accurately while maintaining an accurate cash drawer
• Preparing products quickly and accurately, while following all preparation, health and safety standards and guidelines
• Operating all shoppe equipment in a safe manner
• Completing shift prep work for stocking and setting up of work area
• Maintaining cleanliness of workspaces, dining rooms, outdoor areas and bathrooms via shift checklists
• Performing other duties and responsibilities as requested by executive management team

Qualifications/Requirements

• A customer service and relationships driven mindset
• Strong communication, organizational and multitasking skills
• An interest in working in a fast-paced, hands-on and moving environment
• An ability to work weekends

Education/Experience

• High School Diploma or GED preferred
• Minimum 2 years experience in a retail or food service setting
• Minimum 1 year experience in a management role

Hours

• Full time, rotating schedule
• Must be able to work weekends and evenings (Friday, Saturday and/or Sunday)
