Position Description:
At Joseph T. Ryerson & Son, Inc. we are currently looking for a General Manager for our program accounts team located in Norcross, GA. Below is a list of essential responsibilities and duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Plans and implements Program Accounts strategic business initiatives to support Ryerson’s overall strategy.
- Communicates and negotiates diverse programs / Ryerson offerings to customers to drive growth in established and new potential accounts.
- Works closely with Ryerson legal team and customers to negotiate and finalize multimillion-dollar contracts.
- Oversees SIOP tool usage by the team to ensure accurate forecasting and inventory coverage to support key accounts with appropriate working capital investments.
- Drives commercial strategy and partners with Global Accounts GM to develop customer relationships across the company.
- Establishes sales, margin and profit goals for Program Accounts supporting the ATL/GC and Atlantic multi-markets. Evaluates expected performance to actual performance to drive profitability to the bottom line.
- Directly responsible for business budget planning and deliverance.
- Develops strategic and tactical plans to support the Program Accounts service offering.
- Creates an atmosphere of continuous improvement in all facets of the operation
- Establishes service, quality, safety, and profitability goals; directly responsible for achieving established goals.
- Directly responsible for compliance with all Sarbanes-Oxley reporting and procedures for all assigned functional departments and/or locations as specified in the quarterly certification letters and Ryerson SOX Key Control Matrices, and other applicable SOX and controls documentation provided by Ryerson Finance.
- Performs all functions of personnel management of department employees in accordance with company policies. Trains, coaches, and mentors’ personnel. Ensures subordinates support related initiatives for their employees.
- Establishes and maintains strong relationships with internal and external partners in the supply chain.
- Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
- Solid record of successful leadership experience in a metals or metals distribution environment
Position Requirements:
- Sales management experience required five or more years in a supervisory role
- Must also have experience in the development and execution of strategically defined sales programs that have shown profitable growth in different market environments.
