Job description

Responsibilities include:

• Troubleshoot maintenance issues such as but not limited to electrical, structural, plumbing and equipment repair or replacement.
• Perform preventive building maintenance duties such as but not limited to routine inspections.
• Perform routine plumbing repairs such as but not limited to toilet issues, sinks or urinals, fixing water leaks, and leaking faucets.
• Perform routine electrical repairs such as changing light bulbs or fluorescent lamps; repairing or replacing ballast, light fixtures, electrical outlets, etc.
• Repair and replace door knobs, locks, door closures.
• Repair holes in the walls, paint interior and exterior walls as needed.
• Inspect and maintain fire extinguishers according to state laws.
• Responsible for maintaining in an orderly fashion the Maintenance Supply Room and maintenance of tools and supplies in compliance with fire and safety codes.
• Spray insecticides to prevent insect and rodent infestation as needed.
• Performs other work related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Knowledge of trades related to building maintenance and repair.
• Knowledge of a variety of building maintenance procedures and techniques.
• Knowledge of machinery, equipment, and tools necessary for the maintenance and repair of buildings.
• Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions.
• Skill in reading and following blueprints, assembly instructions, etc.
• Skills in following safety practices and recognizing hazards.
• Skill in using hand and power tools safely.

Physical Demands:

• Frequent standing, walking, climbing stairs, bending and squatting is required.
• Lifting and moving objects 50 lbs or more
• Standing for up to four hours at a time

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $18.75 per hour
