Job description
The cook will assist the Food Service Manager in all aspects of operating a clean, efficient food service for the college community. The cook will prepare meals and follow establishment recipes. Duties include preparing ingredients, adhering to the restaurant menu, and following food health and safety procedures. Cook, clean, assist other cooks and staff and deliver food in a fast-paced environment.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Previous cooking experience in a professional setting
  • Ability to operate cash register and make change.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of food service practices and procedures highly desired.
Essential Duties
  • Prepare and serve meals to students, faculty and staff customers.
  • Prepare daily meals for the Early Childhood Center
  • Prepare food for Catering Events.
  • Set up and clean catering events.
  • Operate college vehicle.
  • Operate cash register.
  • Receive deliveries, stock shelves and displays.
  • Clean the restaurant.
  • Operate commercial kitchen and grill equipment.
  • Provide first-quality customer service to all customers.
  • Open and/or close restaurant as scheduled.
  • Help maintain an “A” health inspection score at all times.
  • Control inventory and limit waste.
  • Prepare and package food for customers.
  • Wash, cut, or process produce and meat products.
  • Follow portion controls as outlined by the Food Service Manager.
  • Maintain restaurant equipment in clean, working order.
  • Clean shelves, counters, or tables.
