Flight Test Engineer

Essential Functions:

n
    n
  • Work as part of a team to plan, execute, and report on flight test programs for new aircraft designs, modifications, and upgrades
  • n
  • Develop and document test plans, procedures, and reports
  • n
  • Conduct flight tests and monitor aircraft systems in-flight
  • n
  • Analyze test data and provide recommendations for design changes or improvements
  • n
  • Collaborate with other engineering teams to ensure compliance with technical requirements and specifications
  • n
  • Support certification activities by working with regulatory agencies and industry standards groups
  • n
  • Manage and maintain test equipment and facilities
  • n
  • Provide technical guidance to other team members and mentor less experienced engineers
  • n
  • Adhere to safety regulations and best practices throughout all phases of flight testing
  • n
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Education:

n
    n
  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering or related field
  • n
  • 0-3 years of experience in flight test engineering or related field
  • n
  • Flight Test or R/C experience a plus
  • n
  • Experience with open-source autopilot software
  • n
  • Knowledge of aircraft systems, flight controls, and performance parameters
  • n
  • Familiarity with flight test instrumentation and data acquisition systems
  • n
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • n
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • n
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with multiple projects and priorities
  • n
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • n
  • Experience with regulatory requirements and certification processes is a plus
  • n
  • Pilot's license or experience flying as a crewmember is a plus
  • n
  • Ability to obtain/maintain a TS/SCI DoD clearance, U.S. Citizenship required
  • n
