Job Description:

Responsible for controlling and extinguishing fires. Drives fire fighting equipment to site of fire and positions vehicle considering factors such as wind direction, sources of water, hazards from falling structures, and location of armaments or aircraft.

Qualifications:

Required Certifications: Firefighter, Firefighter II, NREMR Certification, HazMat Operations with Mission-Specific Competencies, Personnel Protective Equipment, and Production Control First Aid Provider, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, Airport Firefighter,(Special Purpose Vehicles) Pumper (P-22), Fire Rescue Truck, Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting, Water Tender (Tanker) (P-34, Oshkosh Striker 1500), P-23CRS, P-23 Titan HPR, P-23 Titan 6x6, Mobile Water Supply, Wildland Firefighting (DoDM 6055.06 -Qualification & Standards).

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Perform firefighting as assigned to 24-hour shifts (16 Hours Paid, 8 Unpaid Rest Hours)
• Operates firefighting equipment such as pumps, foam generators, boom and ground sweeps nozzles to extinguish fires.
• Follows procedures and performs reporting requirements.
• Drives firefighting equipment.
• Uses a variety of special protective gear in situations where poisonous gases, radioactive materials, and hazardous biological products are involved.
• Performs daily PM inspection of vehicles and equipment, and ensures all equipment is in operable condition.
• Participates in fire drills as scheduled.
• Attends training as required.
• Perform other duties as required.
