Summary:
CPMG is looking for a Financial Project Manager to support the Smithsonian Institution, Office of Finance and Accounting (OF&A) contract located in Washington, D.C. This individual will be responsible for overseeing the Smithsonian’s financial health through financial reporting, management of internal controls, while processing all financial transactions for the institution, including accounts payable, receivable, billing, cash management, endowments, financial systems, general accounting and reporting, insurance risk, payroll, treasury management, and vendor maintenance.
Responsibilities:
- Will oversee project work and meeting schedules
- Responsibilities include assembly and tracking of plans, schedules and resources to ensure timely completion of project timelines
- Accountable for change management process
- Coordinate program financial reporting with financial analyst
- Monthly delivery team financial reviews
- Track budget variances and work with delivery teams to determine root cause and mitigation plan
- Provide professional, technical, and non-personal services to interview OUSA, OF&A, OHR staff to develop an internal RACI matrix (Responsible, Accountable, Consulted, and Informed) to ensure that internal control processes are established and understood by OUSA, OF&A, and OHR stakeholders
- Identify risks within the matrix and communicate these to the Office of the Under Secretary for Administration
- Provide progress updates identifying issues, if any, as they arise and complete the review within the prescribed timeframe
- Draft Smithsonian RACI matrix with identified risks
- Recommend improvements on processes and procedures
- Perform other related duties as needed
- Shall have relevant experience and expert knowledge in federal financial payroll systems (ERP Peoplesoft) and federal human resources systems (ERP HRMS, WebTA)
- Excellent time management skills
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Ability to resolve conflict and manage through challenging situations
- Mastery of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project applications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related
- Minimum five (5) years of related experience
- Demonstrated Full Lifecycle Project Management experience
- Demonstrated Full Lifecycle Project Management experience
- Solution design (process & systems) experience
- Process Mapping and work planning experience
