TEMPORARY POSITION FROM HIRE DATE UNTIL END OF THE 2023 CONTRACT YEAR AND MAY BE FULL-TIME FOR THE 2023-2024 SCHOOL YEAR.
INTERNAL FULL-TIME EMPLOYEE APPLICANTS FOR THIS POSITION MAY BE HIRED FOR FULL-TIME WORK, KEEPING THEIR CONTINUED EMPLOYMENT WITH THE DISTRICT WHEN THEY ARE SELECTED FOR THIS POSITION.
EXTERNAL APPLICANTS WHO ARE PROCESSED AND HIRED FOR VACANCIES IN THE DISTRICT AFTER FEBRUARY 17, 2023 WILL BE CONSIDERED “TEMPORARY” EMPLOYEES THROUGH THE END OF THEIR WORK CALENDARS OR JUNE 30TH, WHICHEVER COMES FIRST. AT THE START OF THE 2023-2024 SCHOOL YEAR, APPLICANTS MAY BECOME FULL-TIME EMPLOYEES.

Qualifications:
- Associates degree in Human Services, or related field
- Ability and interest to work with children, families, other employees, and the public Proficient use of technology
- Meets Head Start performance standards for Health Screening
Performance Responsibilities:
1. Learns and follows Charlotte County Public Schools Head Start policies and procedures as related to the Head Start/Early
Head Start Performance Standards.
2. Develops the Family Partnership Agreement with families.
3. Documents information obtained through family contacts, disabilities service, and health screenings.
4. Maintains up-to-date child master files on all assigned children.
5. Assists with workshops and Parent Committee meetings.
6. Assists the Head Start Director in implementing all parent activities.
7. Assists families with verbal and written communication with community service providers, businesses or employers.
8. Takes direction from Family and Health Services Coordinators.
9. Provides family support services to assigned families as needed and makes appropriate referrals and follow-up.
10. Makes home visits to families.
11. Practices and models appropriate child behavior management techniques.
12. Establishes partnerships with community agencies and utilizes community resources.
13. Develops collaborative partnerships with parents to establish mutual trust and to identify family goals, strengths and
necessary services or support.
14. Observes children in classrooms and provides additional classroom support as appropriate, including class coverage.
15. Works collaboratively with teachers and parents to maintain consistent attendance.
16. Works collaboratively to plan and implement parent involvement programs for Pre-K families.
17. Meets with Head Start instructors periodically and documents with Family Advocate Teacher (FAT) Reports.
18. Assists with identifying, selecting, recruiting, and enrolling eligible children in the Early Childhood Programs.
19. Assists with sensory, health, and dental screenings.
20. Assists with transportation for families as needed for health and human services medical appointments and other necessities
related to the program.
21. Establishes/maintains positive, professional relationships with parents, always treating them with respect and privacy.
22. Maintains confidentiality at all times, within and outside of the program.
23. Flexes schedule to meet the needs of parents and program.
24. Performs other job-related functions as may be assigned.
