Executive Director, Office of International Programs (OIP)
SALARY: $90,144.94 (G-Step 7) - $107,581.32(I-Step 2)
LOCATION: Lynnwood, Washington
DESCRIPTION:
Edmonds College is looking for an experienced and effective leader to serve as the Executive Director of the Office of International Programs. This leader provides leadership and administration for all components of this comprehensive division. The core programs and services include: Marketing, Recruiting, Admissions, Academic Advising, Admissions, Non-Immigrant Student visa Compliance, Orientation and Programming, Study Abroad, Global Engagement, Short-term programs, Fiscal, and Database and Reporting.
The Executive Director works with administration, faculty, staff and students to advance a strategic vision for current and future International Student Services programs and initiatives. The Executive Director implements programs, services, and initiatives that advance outreach and enrollment, academic excellence, student success, community and international partnerships, operational excellence, and inclusive excellence. This is a full-time, administrative exempt position, reporting to the Vice President of Equity, Inclusion and Belonging. The Executive Director serves on several cross campus committees and is a member of the college leadership team.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide strategic leadership that implements innovative strategies to support, improve, and strengthen the Office of International Programs to provide exceptional programs and services that promote access, retention and student success.
- Lead, manage and direct the strategies and goals identified in the College’s Comprehensive Plan related to international students and enrollment.
- Identify and recommend data-informed goals, objectives, strategies, policies and practices for providing effective and efficient services.
- Oversee departmental expenditures, budget, and financial reports.
- Actively participate in and facilitate college committees.
- Interpret and advise the President, Vice President of Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging, and other institutional leaders regarding applicable rules, policies, contracts, crises, and other areas related to international situations and best practices.
- Responsible for the oversight of student records as it pertains to immigration services, regulations, the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) reporting and compliance issues, etc.
- Serve as subject matter expert on current policies, procedures, and regulations relating to the College’s international community.
- Develop and implement policies, procedures, and programs; ensure they are consistently aligned with organizational goals and strategic objectives, the College’s Comprehensive Plan and in compliance with local, state, SBCTC and federal policies and regulatory requirements.
- Serves as the Data Steward for the Office of International Programs on the college’s Data Governance Committee (DGC).
- Incorporate international and global best practices and strategies to collaboratively lead efforts to advance equity, a global perspective and inclusive excellence.
- Fulfill other duties as assigned.
This is an exempt position, reporting to the VP for Equity, Inclusion and Belonging.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in International Education, International Administration, International Studies, OR related field from an accredited college or university.
- Minimum of five (5) years of progressive leadership in the field of international programs
- Demonstrated ability and experience related to equity, inclusion, multicultural and global proficiency that supports the College’s commitment to advancing the creation of a diverse, equitable and an inclusive campus climate.
- Experience that demonstrates culturally-competent leadership and advocacy skills.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master's degree, (OR higher) in the same subject area from an accredited college or university.
PHYSICAL WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work is typically performed in an office setting. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, are essential. This includes the ability to speak clearly and fully comprehend written and spoken English and will include communication with people for whom English is not a native language. Recurring early/late hours (weekend/early morning/evening meetings).
COMPENSATION:
Salary is $90,144.94 - $107,581.32 and is based on the Edmonds CC administrative/exempt salary schedule, plus a full state benefits package, which includes tuition waivers for college classes, medical, dental, retirement options and more. Vacation and leave package includes 12 sick days per year, 11 scheduled holidays, 1 personal holiday, and 24 vacation leave days per year.
FLSA Status:
The position is an exempt position under the Fair Labor Standards Act requirements.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
