The Dayton House Resort is excited to welcome a Evening Manager to our resort. The Evening Manager is responsible for all Front Desk operations during the evening shift. You will provide leadership and support to all members of the Front Office and enforce the highest standard of guest service. Your responsibilities will include managing guest arrivals and departures, training and monitoring guest service representatives and ensuring that all guest relations are properly handled. Responsibilities

  • Directs and collaborates with managers and employees to successfully execute all front office operations
  • Manage online, phone, walk-in, and OTA partner reservations
  • Perform check-in and check-out procedures
  • Collect and post cash and credit card payments to guest folios and group accounts
  • Issue room keys in accordance with company policy
  • Actively listen to and resolve guest complaints
  • Ensure that the front lobby and business center are always clean
  • Comply with all company standards and operating procedures
  • Utilize two-way radio, computer system and phone for reporting and verifying room status
  • Identifies the developmental needs of others. Coaching, mentoring, or otherwise helping others to improve their knowledge or skills
  • Analyzes information and evaluates results to choose the best solution and solve problems
  • Informs and/or updates executives, peers and subordinates on relevant information in a timely manner
  • Must actively participate in the decision making process regarding guest relocation when over capacity, execute accordingly and ensure a smooth relocation process
  • Review arriving reservations and hotel statistics in order to monitor room rate and inventory status.
  • Inform all overnight staff of nightly activities, group and VIP arrivals, as well as special requests
  • In the absence of the Front Office Manager, handle all complaints, disturbances, special requests and any other issues that may arise

Qualifications

  • Previous experience working as a supervisor or manager within a hotel/resort
  • IQware (or other PMS software) experience preferred
  • Basic computer skills are required
  • Proficiency in English is required; knowledge of other languages is a plus
  • Strong listening, problem solving, and multitasking skills
  • Ability to maintain composure and objectivity under pressure
  • Willingness to assist with tasks that fall outside of your primary role
  • Familiar with most operating procedures within a hotel/resort
  • Excellent organizational, team management and time management skills
  • Proficiency in English is required; knowledge of other languages is a plus
  • Must be able to effectively communicate verbally and in writing
  • Ability to prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines

Job Requirements:

  • Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, all employees must be able to work varying schedules to meet business demand
  • Due to the nature of the role, employees must be able to stand for up to eight consecutive hours
