We are looking for a talented Environmental Health & Safety Engineer , who will be responsible for providing leadership and guidance for the company’s safety systems. Work closely with all departments to ensure compliance with all regulations as it pertains to health, safety, and the environment.
Main Responsibilities:
  • Develop procedures to ensure compliance with environmental, health and safety regulations. Own the LINK EHS process and manual. Apprise Mgt of latest regulations. Maintain EHS manual, employee safety training and equipment validation data (cranes, slings, hi los…).
  • Prepare required reports and submit in a timely manner to local, state and federal agencies. Represent the company during EHS audits. Maintain documentation as required (fire system checks, fire department audits, back flow tests…)
  • Lead the Safety Champions Committee meetings. Coordinate best practices across LINK NA sites. Prepare monthly agenda and minutes from the SC meeting. Share best practices.
  • Conduct daily, weekly and other periodic audits for compliance to EHS regulations and company policy. Lead action implementation based on audit findings. Ensure the physical appearance of the plant operations are consistent with a best in class facility.
  • Respond to company emergencies, such as employee injuries and environmental emergencies, and conduct timely investigations, reports, and implementation of corrective actions.
  • Coordinate hazardous waste compliance. Facilitate and record, safety and hazardous materials training for all employees. Maintain data supporting appropriate training and compliance.
  • Communicate accident and emergency plans with employees through drills and other means. Document drill activity and continuously learning/improving actions in advance of future events to ensure readiness.
  • Stay current on new processes and projects and review them for their potential impact on environmental or safety compliance. Keep management apprised. Ensure environmental compliance and improvement actions.
  • Be a leader in the business – work outside the boundaries of your role and OWN what needs fixing in the LINK system (plant organization and daily appearance. Safety, quality, delivery, and financial performance).
  • First point of contact for assigned area.
  • Ensure KPI’s are reviewed and discussed with team on a regular cadence.
  • Work with team and manager to accomplish KPI Targets.
  • Drive a continuous improvement culture within your team documenting, recommending and implementing improvement opportunities through our quality system.
  • Own challenges within your assigned area and work with management to find solutions.
  • Ensure safe working conditions for all and use of all available safety equipment.
  • Ensure adherence to legal and ethical business practices.
  • Ensure adherence company policies.
  • Ensure adherence to LINK quality process and procedures.
  • Be a role model and advocate of the LINK culture that is consistent and emphasizes the identified mission, vision, and values of the organization.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in safety (or other related field) or equivalent years of experience
  • 3 years experience with EHS regulations in a manufacturing environment
  • 1-year experience in a ISO9000, ISO140001 experience a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Proven ability to organize and maintain records
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently with minimal supervisio

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects
  • Ability to set priorities and meet deadlines
  • Ability to lead complex projects
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to tell when something is wrong, or is likely to go wrong, then develop a solution and implement the necessary action to fix problem
  • Strong understanding of MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
