General Description:

The Enterprise Systems Architect role performs as the senior technical person in the IS dept and is an expert at, and performs all manner of complex technical and administrative tasks related to the planning, implementation and maintenance of GRMC’s data, voice and networking systems. This role emphasizes monitoring new systems and technologies and constantly seeks to increase GRMC operational efficiencies on all levels related to operations and capital expenditures in all of its functions (not just IS). This role also provides supervision of project implementation and technical direction to all technicians within the IS department ensuring the successful operation and maintenance of all data, voice and network infrastructure between, and at all GRMC facilities. The supervisor role supervises the IS department personnel as assigned.

Essential Functions:

  • Supervises assigned Information Systems department personnel.
  • Plans, coordinates and directs the ongoing development of the GRMC server, network, security infrastructure for delivery of data, voice, communications and multimedia services.
  • Responsible for defining and outlining the path to completion (along with the IS director) all information systems infrastructure and operations architecture projects
  • Responsible for reviewing and ensuring all companywide initiatives fit in to the defined architecture and researching alternatives to fit the business need
  • Is the senior, go-to technical person for all voice, data, security, and network related activities and is expected to bring all issues to resolution in a timely manner using any resources required within the IS dept.
  • Is an expert at, and performs regular reviews of all converging clinical, voice, and data technologies
  • Makes recommendations to refine infrastructure for capital spending initiatives
  • Performs the installation and maintenance of GRMC voice, data and network services
  • Engages all functions of GRMC operations to understand their needs and break them down into IS operations
  • Processes work requests, and provides customer service through the GRMC IS helpdesk.
  • Installs and validate maintenance and security patches, new system software releases
  • Coordinates education of key concepts to all IS dept team members
  • Coordinates activities to ensure a smooth flow of operations by setting priorities, establishing goals and assisting in the development and implementation of internal policies and procedures.
  • Monitors and reviews all IS projects to ensure that deadlines and quality standards are met
  • Consults and manages outside vendors on all issues related to telecommunications, computers, hardware, software, and related matters and directs their activities.
  • Serves as consultant to other departments on data, voice and communications issues
  • Monitors and ensures availability of applications, security, networks and server systems and supporting infrastructure
  • Install and upgrades applications, networking, security and server systems
  • Documents operational IT assets and operating procedures
  • Monitor and maintain maintenance contracts for hardware and software
  • Defines and maintains GRMC security posture
  • Works side by side with Enterprise Security Analyst to maintain proper patching of Server, Desktop, and application systems
  • Assists the IS director to do preliminary technology analysis, make business case recommendations, outline ROI and justifications to effectively communicate to Senior management
  • Defines and maintains legally compliant DR and BC systems and configuration
  • Maintains high level certifications in security, project management or other nationally recognized certification body
  • Coordinates activities to ensure a smooth flow of operations by setting priorities, establishing goals and assisting in the development and implementation of internal policies and procedures

Education and Training Requirements:

  • Is currently pursuing a nationally recognized certificate program that recognizes proficiency in IS security, infrastructure or design.
  • Associate degree or equivalent work experience in the operations and maintenance of critical IS systems
  • Knowledge of installation, operations and repairs of software and software architecture
  • Certification in Project management preferred
  • Healthcare experience preferred

CERTIFIED CRITERIA-MUST HAVE TWO WITH ONE CURRENT:

  • Microsoft – Advanced or equal experience
  • CompTIA – Professional or equal experience
  • Cisco – Advanced or equal experience
  • Security – CHIME, CISSP or internationally recognized or equal experience
  • Internationally recognized Hardware architecture or equal experience
  • Or as determined by IS director

Work Experience Requirements:

  • Min 1 year experience working with capital budgeting
  • Min 1 year experience working in a Healthcare environment
  • Min 5 years of experience in Server, Networking or Telecommunications field required.
  • Min 2 years experience with installation and operations with PBX and IP telephony systems.
  • Min 5 years experience with Windows server operating systems
  • Min 1 year experience with UNIX operating systems
  • Min 2 years experience with virtual systems and backend operations
  • Min 2 years experience with Storage area networks and fiber channel systems
  • Min 3 years experience with advanced routing and switching configuration
  • Min 3 years experience with installation, operations and repairs of advanced security prevention and detection systems
  • Min 2 years experience with Enterprise scale Business continuance and disaster recovery systems
  • Min 2 years experience with premise cabling design and installation
  • Min 2 years experience with Enterprise Networks
  • Min 1 year experience with Enterprise project management
  • Min 1 year experience with the specification, acquisition, configuration, implementation, operation, maintenance, and support of the following equipment or technologies:
    • IBM storage area networks
    • IBM system X hardware systems
    • SQL database systems
    • Cisco interswitched networks
    • Wireless Ethernet systems
    • Cisco Adaptive security appliances
    • virtual datacenters
    • Project Management
