Work directly for a Middlesex County, NJ area personal care manufacturing company.Electro-Mechanic Technician:
Duties:
- Read blueprints, schematics, and diagrams to determine the method and sequence of assembly of a machine or a piece of equipment.
- Verify dimensions of parts, using precision measuring instruments
- Operate metalworking machines to make housings, fittings, and fixtures.
- Inspect parts for surface defects.
- Repair and calibrate hydraulic and pneumatic assemblies.
- Use instruments to test the performance of electromechanical assemblies.
- Use soldering equipment and handtools to install electronic parts and hardware.
- Replace or repair defective components, using hand tools, gauges, and testing equipment.
- Assemble and install electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and hydraulic equipment using hand or power tools.
- Read, interpret and follow work instructions, SOPs, blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and other written instructions or procedures to accurately assemble equipment and products.
- Observes all company safety rules and regulations when performing work.
- Sets up and operates drill press, grinders, welders, mills, lathes and other metal working tools to fabricate and repair parts.
- Must have good analytical skills and the ability to work as a team with all levels of staff to rapidly resolve problems.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills are required.
- Work on a maintenance team alongside Operations technicians and Engineers in a cross-functional team setting to minimize machine downtime and improve line output
- Troubleshoot, repair, and properly document machine issues.
- Troubleshoot / diagnose PLC/HMI control systems software when possible.
- Perform and document preventative maintenance as required.
- Diagnose and analyze complex Electrical and Mechanical equipment failures.
- Dismantle, repair, and assemble complex Electrical and Mechanical equipment components.
- Learn and operate production equipment for maintenance follow up.
- Work with engineering and manufacturing engineering on root cause of failures and resolution process improvements
- Perform administrative and record keeping support as required to meet the company objectives.
- 3 years" experience in troubleshooting and repair of Pneumatic Control Systems, Allen Bradley PLC Systems, RSLinx, Process Control Instrumentation, 3 phase (480V) Circuits, Motor starters and controls.
- Advanced computer skills using MP2 or other maintenance planning software
- Knowledge of Allen Bradley / Siemens PLC and variable frequency drives
- Cross train to learn all Packaging equipment
