The Electrical Engineer is responsible for the electrical product design and development as directed by Senior Electrical Engineer. Responsibilities include creation and maintenance of records and related files relating to manufacturing drawings, internal technical specifications, specifications and performance data.

This position will serve Rheem’s Friedrich division manufacturing facility located in San Antonio, TX.


WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Electrical Product design and engineering through product life cycle
  • Materials evaluation and selection for products
  • Reliability assessments and studies
  • Facilitate implementation of product revisions into the manufacturing process through collaboration with and engagement of manufacturing and process engineering resources.
  • Responsible for the preparation, coordination, and maintenance of engineering documentation.
  • Work with manufacturing engineering in the development of product work instructions and method sheets.
  • Facilitate the implementation of cost reduction initiatives.
  • Generate detailed documents, test plans and feasibility studies associated with electrical and software product improvements, revisions and component changes.
  • Provide status reports to engineering management for test trends, product deviations, change implementation and design deficiencies.
  • Other duties may be assigned as necessary
Qualifications


WHAT YOU NEED:

  • Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in electrical engineering focused on HVACR products or similar (appliances, building materials, etc.).
  • Must have experience with electrical design and a knowledge of manufacturing and assembly process including PCB fabrication and test.
  • Experience with industry standards pertaining to AC systems including FCC and UL.
  • In‐depth knowledge of communication networks and protocols including Wi‐Fi and Bluetooth.
  • Experience with software development processes and test.
  • Possess strong skills related to Electrical assembly, problem solving, engineering change processes, documentation control, manufacturing implementation support, and service support.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft products to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
  • Possess working knowledge of control board design and software development
  • Ability to work with other Engineering resources for rapid deployment of deviations, changes, product enhancements and improvements.
  • Must possess high energy level and have a positive (can do) attitude, with strong follow‐through skills.
  • Ability to work and think with minimal supervision.
  • Proven ability to succeed in a fast paced ever changing environment.
  • Must possess superior organizational skills.
