Be a part of changing lives as the Eating Disorder Specialist at Los Angeles Outpatient Center in Culver City. We are adding an eating disorder treatment plan to our program and are looking for a therapist to be a key player in this amazing program. At the Los Angeles Outpatient Center, our mission is to provide healing resources for adults with mental health, substance abuse and eating disorders. Our diverse team of clinicians ensures each client receives individualized, comprehensive care in the most appropriate setting.
This full-time, Monday - Friday role will have a starting salary range of between $70,000 and $90,000, depending upon the experience you bring.
This is an
on-site position in our attractive Culver City offices, which offer a tranquil, pleasant environment. We offer free lunches, coffee and snacks, along with
free parking. The office is located right off the 405 freeway and close to amenities such as the Westfield Culver City (formerly known as Fox Hills Mall).
As the Eating Disorder Specialist, you will work collaboratively with the clinical team in the assessment of client’s biopsychosocial needs, treatment planning, support group facilitation, advocacy for options and services to address the individual’s well-being and improve or restore their capacity for effective coping and functioning.
Some of the responsibilities include:
- Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide quality care to the client.
- Ensure excellent clinical care is provided in individual and group therapy.
- Assess clients’ strengths, needs, abilities and preference; formulate a diagnostic impression based on current DSM criteria; and in conjunction with the client, develop a workable plan for treatment.
- Facilitate and complete treatment plans upon admission, discharge of summaries and other chart related documents and correspondence for assigned clients in a timely manner.
- Consistently communicate and report to the Clinical Director the needs of the clients.
- Communicate and effectively interact with all clinical and non-clinical departments coordinating care for clients.
To be a good fit for the Eating Disorder Specialist, you will have:
- A master’s degree and licensed clinician in the state of California. This includes LCSW, LMFT, or LPCC.
- Certified Eating Disorder Specialist certification from IAEDP, or be willing to obtain within six months of hire.
- 2+ years of experience providing therapy for eating disorders.
- Knowledge and awareness of issues relating to physical and psychological risks associated with eating disorders.
- Knowledge and awareness of relating mental health.
- Basic computer skills in Microsoft Office.
- First Aid and CPR certifications.
