Reports to: Director of Student Services
Position Summary:
The Early Childhood Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and administering all aspects of the school district’s early childhood and special education programming.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Oversees early childhood education, preschool programming and transition to kindergarten;
- Coordinates with Early Intervention and area pre-schools;
- Responsible for Preschool and Kindergarten registration, orientation and parent engagement;
- Conducts Pre-school home visits;
- Leads special education IEP meetings and processes;
- Leads community screenings and community EC events;
- Leads professional development (PD) for special education and early childhood staff and collaborates with Assistant Superintendent and Team to plan PK-2 PD;
- Supervision and evaluation of EC staff and collaboration with site principals;
- Implementation of Early Education and Care (EEC) requirements;
- Works collaboratively with Director of Student Services to coordinate services and determine budget priorities;
- Leads professional learning related to EEC for district administrators;
- Manages grants related to EEC;
- Plans EC summer ESY programming;
- Participates as an active member of the district leadership team;
- Other related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements
- Requirements:
- Master’s Degree;
- Experience as special education and early childhood educator;
- Licensure required: MA DESE Director, Special Education and Early Childhood
Desired Characteristics:
- Strong leadership, collaboration & communication skills;
- Experience with evaluation/supervision process;
- Experience providing professional development;
- Experience enforcing special education law
- Knowledge of EC curriculum & assessment;
- Experience in data analysis and use of data to inform instruction;
- Knowledge of and experience with EEC requirements
- Grant writing experience
Work Year: 203 days
Hiring is contingent upon a successful CORI and fingerprinting clearance. All finalists will be required to provide official transcripts.
