Manages a team of 5 - 8 sales representatives and merchandisers, and is responsible for training, development, and motivation to ensure proper representation of our brands in their accounts.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Trains and develops new and experienced sales representatives through the use of sales training modules and field ride withs.
- Assesses performance of sales representatives by providing timely performance assessments.
- Establishes account programs for sales representatives.
- Establishes Major Account management program.
- Detects and develops management candidates.
- Provides upward flow of relevant market information to upper management.
- Participates in the recruiting of candidates.
- Practices safe work and driving habits and, if accountable for others, ensures their understanding and compliance of such habits.
- Responsible for understanding and complying with applicable quality, environmental and safety regulatory consideration. If accountable for the work of others, responsible for ensuring their understanding and compliance.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develops, coaches and mentors subordinate staff.
- Conducts performance evaluations, recommends salary adjustments; rewards employees or takes disciplinary action, as necessary; addresses complaints and resolves issues.
QUALIFICATIONS

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate.
- 21 years of age or older.
- Professional sales experience with a Gallo wholesaler or affiliated distributor that includes the holiday season.
- Required to successfully pass physical demands testing.
- Valid driver’s license and successful completion of background check. Required to obtain a California driver’s license or appropriate state driver’s license within 30 days of hire.
- No more than 2 moving violations within the past 3 years and no DUI/DWI convictions within the past 5 years.
- Required to lift or move 45 – 57 pound cases of product.
- Required to work weekends for special functions/events when needed.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Demonstrated Leadership aptitude and skill.
- Good communication skills; sticks to point.
- Good problem solving skills.
- Good time management skills.
- Good organization skills.
- Demonstrated teamwork experience.
