Summary: The Director, of Project Controls creates, develops, and/or standardizes project control methods and ensures implementation across all construction projects. This role leads and manages the commercial management, project accountant and cost control teams on all wind, solar, storage, and transmission construction projects, as applicable.
Requirements:
- Leads a team of senior managers, project controls managers and project accountants responsible for Labor, Equipment, Materials, Subcontract, and Other (LEMSO) project forecasting, tracking and monthly reporting across business units.
- Drives project budget compliance. Ensures tracking, monitoring and accurate reporting of profit and loss statements and cash flows to support the monthly review process. Conducts post-project reviews and integrates recommendations into standard procedures.
- Provides effective and clear liaison between commercial, construction, and finance teams.
- Collaborates with Procurement in order to ensure effective expediting of subcontractors and suppliers.
- Oversees contract management, change management, and project forecasting processes for Construction projects; where disputes arise, provides support and guidance to the Construction business.
- Works closely with the estimating team on matters relating to risk and opportunity.
- Reviews all Project Controls essential function processes regularly to identify areas of improvement to ensure processes are documented in the Company Business Management System (BMS).
- Attends work regularly and punctually, as scheduled or expected.
- Complies with Employee Handbook, Code of Conduct, and Company Policies & Procedures.
- Ensures company standards are followed.
- Follows safety and security procedures and determines appropriate action. Reports potentially unsafe conditions and uses materials and equipment properly.

- Manages one or more direct reports.
- Participates in hiring and selection process to fill positions on the team.
- Communicates regularly with direct reports on goals, accomplishments, and information on policies.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, Accounting or 8 years equivalent experience
- MBA/Business, Finance, Engineering, Accounting
- 10+ years of Construction industry focused on project controls or financial planning and analysis experience required.
- 2+ years of supervisory experience required.
- Advanced ability to drive efficiency throughout the company.
- Advanced understanding of quality, scheduling, and cost.
- Advanced understanding of EPC, BOP, or BOS Contracts in the Power Generation, Renewables, or similar industry segments.
- Advanced knowledge of accounting and reporting practices.
- Advanced knowledge of the heavy civil, self-perform implementation.
- Ability to understand and influence stakeholders.
- Ability to get along with others/team player.
- Intermediate skills in MS Office, Outlook, MS Project, and Primavera. Excel skills should include charts, graphs and bars, pivot tables, VLOOKUP, COUNTIF, SUMIF, creating macros, managing large amounts of data, forecasting, and prediction.
- Ability to travel 30-50%.
Anticipated base salary range: $156,000 - $190,000
The final agreed-upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. This position is bonus eligible.
