Job description: Director of Sales – Holiday Inn Express, Comfort Inn & Suites, & Galaxy Banquet Center, Wadsworth, Ohio
Job Summary: The key responsibility of this position is the overall management of the sales efforts in order to reach or exceed budgeted hotel guest room & meeting room/banquet revenue. This is achieved through developing and executing strategies to increase the customer base through enhanced customer relationships, identifying new business opportunities for growth, and assisting with the overall management of rates and revenue.
Job Qualifications: Candidate must have at least 3 years outside sales experience, preferably in the hospitality industry. Candidate must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills and must demonstrate a true passion for the hospitality business and commitment to exceptional guest service. Exhibits a fun, positive attitude with a sense of humor.
Responsibilities & specific duties:
§ Assess all sales strategies and formulate new strategies targeted to reach sales goals.
§ Assess and manage the sales team members to ensure efficient practice and provide an environment for success.
§ Complete weekly sales activity goals per company guidelines for face to face meetings, telephone calls, written correspondence, & property tours with new and/or current customers.
§ Conduct majority of sales efforts during prime time selling hours or PTS. (PTS is defined as Tues, Wed, Thu, between 10AM and 3PM as primary hours. Secondary hours are Monday between Noon and 3PM and Fridays 10AM to Noon.) All other administrative duties to be conducted outside of these hours.
§ Responsibilities of sales management software to ensure team members are efficiently utilizing system for maximum results.
§ Utilize effective customer contact, trace and file system and prepare weekly productivity reports on sales activity.
§ Attend/Conduct weekly sales meetings as needed for the sales team.
§ Conduct monthly or periodic sales meeting with senior management and sales team to ensure all members are on the same page with sales effort direction.
§ Conduct a sales meeting on an as needed basis for all sales team members including management of the Galaxy Banquet Center, Holiday Inn Express and Comfort Inn & Suites. (Overall sales meeting to ensure members are coordinating on task.)
§ Review all guest room booking and meeting room/banquet revenue against goals on an ongoing basis.
§ Visit Galaxy sales office regularly as well as ongoing communications with Galaxy banquet/sales team to ensure transparent sales efforts and coordination.
§ Assist in ensuring all terms are adhered to according to customer contracts.
§ Ensures all sales information is current, accurate and portrays a professional image for the marketplace.
§ Continually conduct effective research to identify potential new business leads.
§ Participate and/or attend hospitality and community organizations/events to include the local chamber, CVB, and other community/networking events.
§ Participate in creation of an effective sales action plan.
§ Keep hotel information current or coordinate on all internet and e-commerce related channels.
§ Participate/setup business related social media accounts.
§ Conduct site tours as needed.
§ Thoroughly understand and implement the Brand service culture.
§ Assist with coordination of print advertising for hotels & banquet center.
§ Assist with promotion of hotels and banquet center through marketing and public relations related activities as needed.
§ Participate in all mandatory job training and meetings.
§ Adhere to requirements, policies, and procedures outlined in the Employee Handbook and/or other property documents.
§ Immediately report any suspicious activities by guests or others.
§ Must demonstrate strong customer service skills to include problem-solving and complaint resolution
§ Must have the ability to work independently, exercising good judgment and discretion.
§ Must be a self-starter with a high degree of initiative.
§ Perform other duties as required.
Hours of work: The hotel & banquet center operates 7 days a week. The Director of Sales will work a minimum of 40 hours per week. The schedule will be normal business hours Monday through Friday. However, this schedule will need to be flexible to accommodate fluctuating business demands and it may be necessary to work shifts other than those normally scheduled, including evenings and/or weekends.
Reports to: General Manager of hotels.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $45,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
