Director of Development

Full Time Position Available – Fort Walton Beach, FL

The Arc of the Emerald Coast provides services to intellectually and developmentally disabled children and adults in Santa Rosa, Okaloosa, and Walton Counties. Responsibilities:

• Develop a strategic plan for agency fundraising efforts including specific goals which align with the overall budget needs
• Develop an overall communication plan
• Cultivate and maintain relationships with existing and prospective donors
• Maintain database of donors and contributions
• Conduct and execute special event fundraisers
• Oversee capital campaigns and other special projects
• Oversee planned giving program including participant solicitation
• Assist in securing agency grants, research, application, tracking and reporting
• Develop an external presence within the regional community
• Direct public relations and marketing to increase knowledge and awareness of the organization, its mission, activities, and the value of its work.
• Direct and prepare promotional materials
• Represent the agency through speaking engagements, media appearances, facility tours and community involvement
• Join and be active in appropriate professional and civic organizations
• Partner with agency leadership to identify organizational needs
• Partner with CFO to ensure efficient, effective, and transparent financial tracking, planning, and reporting
• Manage volunteers as necessary
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university preferred with major course work in a relevant field, such as marketing, communication, business, or psychology.
• Minimum of two years experience in the area of public relations, fund raising, communications, or a related field. Experience working with people with disabilities preferred.
• Candidates without a degree must posses a minimum of six (6) years experience in one of the aforementioned fields.
• Must pass a drug test
• Must pass a level II background screening
• Must have a good driving record and valid driver license
• Must complete necessary training.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year

• Monday to Friday
• Weekend availability

• Bachelor's (Preferred)

• Fundraising: 2 years (Required)
