Director, Nursing
Coastal Carolina University is currently accepting applications for the following position: Director, Nursing in the Department of Student Health Services.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Oversee Nursing Services in the integrated Student Wellness clinic, ensuring appropriate and inclusive services are provided for a diverse student population through establishing protocols, processes, and a work environment that promotes the success of the clinic and employees.
- Supervise clinic nursing staff, including oversight of evaluation processes.
- Provide health care services for students, (and faculty/staff for designated circumstances i.e. vaccine clinics) including assessment of patients, obtaining medical histories and records, mental and physical assessments, and perform physical examinations.
- Maintain confidentiality of student records and health information.
- Manage coordination of medical supply inventory with Lead RN and Director of Clinic Operations and monitor budget for supply needs.
- Work closely and collaboratively with Wellness Clinic staff, direct reports, and campus partners to enhance communication and wellness education efforts.
- Oversee the University’s response to infectious disease containment, including supervising the appropriate testing, contact tracing, and applicable vaccinations.
Requirements: A master’s degree in Nursing and five (5) years of clinical experience, including experience as a supervisor, is required. An SC license as a registered nurse with recognition as an advanced practice RN (nurse practitioner) by the SC Board of Nursing is also required. Experience in a clinical setting within higher education is preferred.

SC State Pay Band: 09. Salary range: $77,513.00 (minimum) to $110,464.00 (midpoint). Normal work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Evenings and weekends will be required as needed. Must be flexible to meet the special scheduling needs of the university.
Required Qualifications
Master’s degree in nursing and five (5) years of clinical experience including experience as a supervisor required.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in a clinical setting within higher education.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Extensive knowledge of physical assessment, differential diagnosis, pathopysiology, pharmacology and management of acute chronic patient issues. Supervisory and leadership skills. Strong gynecology skills. Substantial interpersonal skills necessary to educate students and collaborate with other health care providers. Ability to develop and implement programs for the Student Health Center. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, students and the general public.

Position will be subject to normal work hours for the University. Some evening, weekend, and on call responsibilities may be required.
