Job Summary

The Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation (CEI) is part of the Mike Cottrell College of Business (MCCB) and serves a campus-wide role. The CEI is a collaborative initiative that engages students, faculty and staff across the university and communities within the region to imagine, innovate, start and grow new and existing ventures. The initiatives within the CEI are designed to spark entrepreneurial efforts and become the go-to place for aspiring and existing entrepreneurs across the north Georgia region.

The Director is responsible for providing leadership and vision for the CEI with a focus on creating an entrepreneurial mindset across the campus community and working within the university and regional community to increase business starts and expansion of existing area businesses. The Director reports to the Dean of the MCCB and works with the CEI Advisory Board and constituents across the university and community. This position is both an administrative and instructional position; the incumbent will teach one class each semester in the area of entrepreneurship. Summer teaching also may be an option.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a CEI strategic plan to further the vision and mission of CEI as the "go-to" resource for entrepreneurship on the campus and beyond, creating a nationally recognized program, and raising support for the center.
• Provide leadership across campus to foster a climate of innovation, creativity, collaboration, and entrepreneurship at UNG.
• Organize and implement CEI programming to include workshops, speakers, conferences, and pitch competitions related to relevant business needs in the region.
• Grow and continue to engage the advisory board as advocates and collaborators of the mission of the CEI and as advocates for raising financial support for the CEI.
• Develop and execute an operational plan for the CEI, including budget management.
• Develop strong, collaborative relationships within the UNG and the region, and serve as a "connector" between the entrepreneurial community and the CEI.
• Supervise administrative and student support staff.

Required Qualifications

• Master's degree required, preferably in business, marketing or related field.
• Five-plus years of operational management experience.
• Entrepreneurial experience is a must.
• Knowledge of the region's business and entrepreneurial environment is highly desirable.
• Teaching experience a plus.
