Direct Support Professional
(_Friday 2pm -10pm | _Saturday 8am-3pm or 3pm-10pm | Sunday 8am-3pm or 3pm-10pm)
Care staff works with individuals in their homes and in the community, supporting them to develop independent living skills and actively engage in community life. The staff’s responsibilities include assisting in tasks of daily living, teaching, and providing assistance in a variety of settings. In addition, the staff member provides behavioral support to address specific behavioral challenges that may prevent an individual from successful independence in the community and workforce integration. The care staff member works within the context of a team and reports to the Admin. Manager.
*Job Responsibilities
- Work with an individual in their home and in the community holding the interest of your participant at the center.
- Adhere to daily, weekly and monthly schedules customized to engage individuals and support them in achieving their person-centered plan and ISP goals.
- Be a positive role model, demonstrating professional attitude, behavior and boundaries in all contexts and environments.
- Create and maintain an environment which fosters growth and learning.
- Advocate for the person in situations where they are unable to ensure their needs are met or to advocate for themselves.
- Exercise discretion and professional judgment at all times in keeping with the responsibility carried personally and by the agency for the care and welfare of adults who are developmentally and intellectually challenged. .
- Communicate professionally and proactively with our individuals, parents, family members, residential providers, social workers, employers and peers..
- Document individuals' progress and note information in a concise, professional, and accurate manner.
- Complete paperwork and record keeping of data; notes , behavioral tracking sheets, social recreation activities, and any other paperwork deemed necessary.
- Participate in ongoing mandatory training and staff meetings.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour

- 10 hour shift
- 12 hour shift
- Day shift
- Night shift
- Weekend availability

The state of California is requiring employers of health & home care workers who work in or routinely visit high-risk or residential patients must be fully vaccinated by September 30th, 2021
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Inglewood, CA 90303: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)
Education:
- High school or equivalent (Preferred)
Experience:
- Caregiving: 1 year (Preferred)
License/Certification:
- Direct Support Personnel (DSP 1&2) Certification (Preferred)
- CPR Certified (Preferred)
- Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) Certification (Preferred)
