New life is a non-profit agency providing services to individuals with intellectual, developmental and other disabilities in Franklin County and the surrounding area. We offer a combination of formal programs, services, and supports to empower the individuals and increase their quality of life. Our goal is to promote persons’ served independence, to assist with developing their personal potential, and to see them fully integrated and included in our society.

∙ Hiring for multiple positions:

- DSP day: Monday-Friday 7a-3p (plus on call 2-3 days a month)

- 2nd shift residential DSP (plus on call)

- 3rd shift residential DSP (plus on call)

∙ Assisting individuals with disabilities with all aspects of daily living. Selected individuals require direct care with their ADLS: dressing, bathing, toileting, oral hygiene, feeding, and assisting with transfers as needed. Daily notes documentation of the individual’s activities, outcomes, (behaviors and accidents as applicable) and ways staff assist them throughout the day.

∙ CPR/AED training provided in-house within the first 30 days of employment.

∙ Residential DSPs are expected to assist the individuals with transportation, meal prep, cleaning the house, administering medications (agency-provided training and certification for unlicensed personnel to administer medications within first 60 days of employment), etc. Residential DSPs conduct fire drills once a month.

∙ Day DSPs assist either with facility-based activities or community-based trips every Monday-Friday.

∙ Driver’s License required. Expectation to get an F Endorsement within 30 days of employment to transport the individuals to their homes, the center and places of their choosing in the community.

∙ DIDD and ECF/Choices cross training. Cross training at the day program and residential sites.

∙ Listens to, talks to, and spends time with the individuals in a manner that is positive, respectful and age-appropriate. Respects their rights of privacy.

∙ Adheres to HIPPA, all information learned about the individual is confidential and is kept within the agency.

∙ Relevant experience includes; social work, special education, prior experience with adults or children with intellectual and or developmental disabilities, home health, caregiver, teacher, medical assistant, occupational therapist, teachers aid, etc.
