Welding Engineer - DIRECT HIRE

Catoosa, OK

$35-$37/hr

Summary:

This client is looking for candidates that specifies ASME BPVC Section VIII, Division 1, and customer specification compliant welding procedures, weld joint configuration, and coordinates weld procedure/welder qualification by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

• Actively develop new welding procedures and welding methods.
• Liaison between Engineering other necessary personnel.
• Communicate with customers regarding welding issues.
• Review and assign welding procedures.
• Maintain welder qualifications and test methods.
• Calculate weld consumables.
• Maintain the Welding Procedure Specification and Procedure Qualifications Report.

COMPUTER SKILLS

• Personal computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, and AutoCAD.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• 1yr Vo-tech, military, & community college all considered. BS engineering degree preferred.
• Must have working knowledge of ASME BPVC Section VIII, Division 1, and section IX.
• Must have working knowledge of AWS D1.1
• Must have knowledge in strength of materials and be able to perform basic engineering strength calculations.
• Must have a basic understanding of welding metallurgy & heat treatment.
• Preference is given to individuals with the following (or similar) certifications:
• AWS: CWI, CWEng, SCWI
• CWB: Certified welding supervisor, Certified welding engineer
• c. API: 510, 570, 653
