Summary: To do all duties required keeping the cooking side of the kitchen running smoothly.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

· Plans food quantities to meet needs of patients.

· Pulls meat from the freezer needed for the next 3 days.

· Prepares evening meal.

· Cleans small equipment and washes pots and pans.

· Keeps work area clean and does daily cleaning duty.

· Sets up steam table and serves evening meal.

· Cleans steam table area, washes pots and pans, and cleans cooks area.

· Sets up 7:00 p.m. nourishment cart.

· Puts away clean dishes and sets up meal carts for the next morning

· Locks all doors and shuts off all equipment and lights.

Education and/or Experience: Prefer prior work experience in commercial cooking or assistance.

Language Skills: Ability to read and understand verbal and written communications to perform the required tasks and follow emergency procedures.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
