We are searching for an experienced diesel mechanic who would report directly to the Fleet Maintenance Supervisor at our Northbridge, MA garage and become responsible for performing the day-to-day preventative maintenance or vehicle repairs as directed/scheduled. Our garage is clean spacious and features vehicle lifts.

As one of our diesel mechanics, you will:

• Perform preventative maintenance with minimal or no supervision
• Perform routine truck repairs including brake work, hydraulics, driveline, steering, suspension, electrical and transmission with minimal or no supervision.
• Perform some welding and cutting as directed.
• Utilize various diagnostic equipment and software to identify error codes and identify repairs required.

The ideal Diesel Mechanic candidate will possess the following:

• A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED is required
• Valid Driver’s license
• Minimum of 4+ years related diesel truck maintenance experience (waste management, Mack dealership, etc.)
• General set of adequate hand tools to perform preventative maintenance

Specific Skills:

• General knowledge and understanding of diesel truck repair and preventative maintenance.
• Ability to work independently and productively with some supervision and support.
• Ability to use a variety hand, power or specialty tools.
• Self-motivated.
• Strong desire for advancement.
• Manual dexterity with mental and visual attention for sustained periods
• Ability to lift a minimum of 25lbs unassisted while working in difficult positions.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work within a team concept.
• Intermediate computer skills to start utilizing diagnostic equipment and access to fleet maintenance software.
