Job Description

The Development Associate is primarily responsible for gift entry and reporting, Development special events, and leadership of our endowment stewardship program. The Development Associate reports to the Director of Development, and supports all areas of Development, including Annual Giving, Alumni Relations & Special Events. This is a full-time, salaried position.

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain overall accuracy of Raiser’s Edge database, overseeing constituent data entry and changes
  • Enter and file all gifts. Deposit gifts to the business office on a regular basis; reconcile with the business office.
  • In collaboration with Business Office Associate, process pledge reminders, stewardship letters, and other communications as requested
  • Design and produce Raiser’s Edge reports, queries, and lists for development staff, business office, school administration and volunteers as requested
  • Maintain documentation on Raiser’s Edge policies and procedures and share within the office. Provide Raiser’s Edge feature change/update information to office members.
  • Work with auditors annually to provide backup and documentation audited financial statements
  • Identify database cleanup projects in Raiser’s Edge and complete them in priority order
  • Compile and submit annual benchmarking surveys to national independent school organizations
  • Plan and execute between three to five Development Office special events each year
  • Plan and execute the Kent Denver Endowment Stewardship program
Qualification & Requirements:
  • Associate’s or Undergraduate degree
  • Proficiency with Raiser’s Edge (or similar CRM) database
  • Philanthropic mindset, committed to the spirit of fundraising and charitable giving
  • Interest in and passion for creative problem solving, new ideas, and new ways of doing things
  • Proven success achieving goals and delivering results
  • Proven organizational, follow-through, and follow-up skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills when working with colleagues, independent school parents, parent volunteers, and other donor constituencies
  • High level of proficiency with Excel and/or Google Sheets
  • Utmost discretion with regard to donor personal information
  • Ability to work 40 hours per week including occasional evenings and weekends

Salary range:
$44,000 - $54,000 + benefits
