Position Summary
The warehouse/driver’s primary responsibility is to ensure that inventory is delivered to or picked up from customers in a courteous, safe and efficient manner, while providing the highest possible level of customer service.
Responsibilities:
- Ability to safely operate 24' flatbed trucks and pickups.
- Assist in loading and unloading of merchandise on the vehicle, ensuring the load is safely distributed in the vehicle and that proper material handling practices are used.
Ex. Forklift operations, lift-gate operations, pallet jack, if you are unfamiliar with these practices we will teach you.
- Follow the assigned delivery schedule, ensuring deliveries are made in a timely fashion by the most cost-effective route.
- The warehouse/driver position will be called upon to perform other duties as the warehouse manager/supervisor deems necessary.
- Warehouse duties will include: Stocking material, preparing large orders that may require a forklift, cleaning the warehouse, and assisting counter sales.
- Follow proper procedures in reporting accidents in accordance with Company policy.
Inspect vehicle daily and complete the required paperwork.
- Promptly report operating problems or maintenance needs on vehicles.
- Keep warehouse manager/supervisor informed of shortages, overloads or damaged merchandise, and any complaints received from customers.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Ability to lift heavy objects.
- Current driver's license.
- Clean driving record.
- Pre-employment drug screen, motor vehicle report, and criminal background checks required.
Physical Demands
The physical demands here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations:
- Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, power tools, and other computer components
- Ability to safely lift and handle material weighing up-to 80 pounds
