Job Description:
The Global Markets Credit (GMC) organization is responsible for ensuring
a robust and consistent credit underwriting process for Global Markets
lending activities and trading counterparty limits. GMC partners directly
with Global Markets FLU teams in relation to client selection, structuring
and underwriting activities to drive revenue growth while maintaining
appropriate risk disciplines. GMC also coordinates engagement in key
control partners including Global Risk, Finance, Credit Review and Audit
to accordance with our Risk Framework and internal and external
standards.
Within GMC, Data & Portfolio Management is responsible for the
portfolio management of the GM lending and for creating transparency
in lending performance metrics. The Data Specialists will work closely
with Portfolio Managers and Credit Officers in managing data, analytics
and reports. The Data Specialist will be expected to:
- Partner with stakeholders to produce analysis on the GMC portfolio to grow and manage the existing business
- Develop and/or enhance analytical tools (such as Tableau dashboards) to provide additional insights
- Leverage business intelligence tools, such as Alteryx and Tableau, to develop automation/reporting solutions
- Understand data flow and processes in order to design and implement solutions to streamline and/or automate manual repetitive processes to create efficiencies and reduce operational risk
- Work with teammates and business partners to discuss potential solutions and perform thorough testing and peer review prior to implementation
- Be fluent in data attributes and source systems, while understanding limitations
- Explore use of internal and 3rd party vendor options to support the above goals
- Identify and troubleshoot issues in the data/reports and work with appropriate team(s) to resolve
- Contribute to presentations by providing information and analysis in response to regulatory and senior management requests
- Support enterprise initiatives and liaise with applicable stakeholders across the firm on emerging topics
- Required Skills: Must have these skills to be minimally qualified.
- 2-5 years of experience in data analysis or business intelligence development
- Skilled in business intelligence tools, including Alteryx, Tableau
- Proficiency to write SQL queries in existing database (Oracle, Sybase, etc.) tables
- Proficiency with Word, Excel, Excel VBA, and PowerPoint, along with ability to quickly learn new programs and applications
- Business knowledge of Global Markets products (structured lending, trading, counterparty risk metrics) a plus
- Strong organizational, oral, and written communication skills and attention to detail
- Strong willingness and desire to improve and/or streamline processes
- Candidate should exhibit strong personal drive, individual initiative, a sense of urgency, and responsiveness, with a desire to grow, learn, and take on increasing levels of responsibility
