Summary:
The role of the CSR is to be an advocate for the customer and ensure delivery of the ultimate corrugated experience.
Essential Functions and Activities:
- Enter orders using preflight system to avoid order entry issues and send acknowledgements to customers as soon as possible
- Establish expectations, be able to negotiate due dates
- Effectively build and maintain relationships with customers & sales representatives, support as internal contact
- Communicate with customers on late/partial shipments, determine resolution
- Schedule delivery dates according to shipping patterns and customer needs, communicating with shipping department when needed
- Generate and maintain quotes
- Utilize capacity planner and communicate through appropriate channels on due date changes, qualify “hot” orders
- Act as the internal voice of the customer, utilize CSM as needed
- Generate RFQs and RFDs for House accounts and brokers
- Backfill the estimator – build specs for own customers, assist with large bids
- Process UPS/USPS incoming/outgoing, AR notes for checks, answer main line and transfer to appropriate party, inventory & order office supplies, maintain clean and organized workstation, qualify prospective customers through sales manager
- Other duties as assigned.
Expectations of the Role:
- Functioning user of Amtech and DocLink
- Accurate order entry
- Communicate through email and phone calls - intercompany and to customers
- Communicate, organize, prioritize, focus daily/weekly/monthly tasks effectively; utilize system for notes and reminders
- 24hr or less completion on acknowledgements, quotes, general responses, using judgement on precedence – sense of urgency
- Develop and maintain genuine customer relationships – ask yourself if you have a relationship
- Take initiative to assist others within CS department during downtime and other tasks when assigned
- Embrace the Welch culture, share and convey it as a goodwill ambassador to each customer and team member
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- College degree in Business, Organizational Management, Supervision or related field preferred.
- Experience with working in the Corrugated Industry Preferred.
- Good organizational, analytical and communication skills.
- Excellent problem solving and teamwork skills.
- Internal and external customer focus.
- Computer literacy and Windows applications required.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications preferred.
- Core competencies: teamwork, communication skills, time management, organizational skills, initiative, customer focused and building customer relationships.
