Merits Health Products is looking for a positive, motivated, and well-spoken representative to join our sales team.


Merits Health Products is a medical device manufacturer located in Fort Myers, Florida. We specialize in mobility equipment such as power wheelchairs, power scooters and complex power rehab chairs. Merits does not sell directly to the consumer/patient. Many of our products are covered by insurance and require a specialist to determine the needs of each patient. You will be working with the retailers, the specialists, and the online vendors to help them place their orders and ensure a smooth sales process.


Part of this experience will include building a rapport with customers, understanding their needs, and looking for opportunities to guide them in their purchases. We look forward to establishing relationships with all our dealers and providing them with a higher level of customer support on products and services.

Please note this is NOT A CALL CENTER. There are no set quotas, no timed calls, etc.


Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Answering incoming calls, communicating with customers, making outbound calls and following up on leads.
  • Understanding customers' needs.
  • Uses knowledge of a specific product, service, or other assigned area of expertise to answer inquiries, send additional information and enter quotes/orders.
  • Maintains customer and potential accounts and records of customer interactions including details of inquiries, complaints, or comments.
  • Explaining and demonstrating features of products and services.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Previous experience in an outbound call center or a related sales position preferred.
  • Proficiency in basic office software, i.e., Microsoft Office, Google Sheets, etc.
  • Experience with customer service software is a plus.
  • Ability to learn new software.

Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One year or more of Customer service preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of or experience with medical devices a plus.

Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift to 15 pounds at times.

  • None


Job Type: Full-time hourly plus quarterly incentive
