We are now accepting applications for a Crossing Guard! This position is responsible for safely assisting school-aged children in crossing streets in designated school zones as well as directing and controlling motor vehicle traffic in and out of school campuses.

Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
~ Stop vehicles to allow children to cross at specific locations.
~ Give understandable signals and direction to regulate the flow of vehicular and pedestrian traffic and use judgment in those duties to avoid unnecessary traffic tie-ups and to safeguard the children.

Note: Days and hours will vary based on location, start and stop of school and when school is in session.

~Elementary school: 7:20am- 8:05am and 2:35pm- 3:15pm.
~Middle school: 8:15am- 8:55am and 3:20pm- 4:00pm.
~High school: 8:10am- 8:45am and 3:30pm- 4:00pm.

Pay and Benefits:
This position offers a pay rate of $14.00- $14.98 per crossing period.

Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED. Valid driver"s license and reliable phone and transportation necessary. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations and ability to remember locations, directions, and differentiate a geographic area by zones and streets are a must. The employee is required to understand and follow traffic laws in the course of normal duties.

Note: This position involves work in all outdoor weather conditions, including rain and snow, and near to moving road traffic. This position is also required to stand, sometimes on uneven surfaces.
