The standardized annual salary for this position is $42,264 dependent upon fund availability and OSHR approval.

This position #60058366 is located at Pamlico Correctional Institution in Bayboro, NC. This is a medium custody facility housing approximately 575 mail offenders. Reporting to a Correctional Programs Supervisor this position is responsible for carrying a caseload of offenders, which involves supportive counseling, conducting assessments, developing case plans, answering and following up on offender questions and problems. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: • Providing recommendations to the classification committee. • Assisting in major dynamic programs or coordinating major or specialized programs for the rehabilitation of offenders, such as offender work assignments, work release, education or recreation. • Planning and coordinating transition (re-entry) prior to parole or release into the community. This is a certified position and employees may be subject to assist in any certified capacity as needed, which includes the Custody and Administrative Services. This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with State Benefits.

Documented knowledge of supportive counseling techniques

Associate s degree in Criminal Justice, Human Services, Recreation or a related field from an appropriately accredited institution; or High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two years of custody experience within the North Carolina Department of Public Safety; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Necessary Special Qualifications Must be eligible for certification by the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education & Training Standards Commission.
