Responsibilities


Basic Purpose

Serves as communications expert to execute integrated communications strategies for NV Energy social media, internal communications, and media. Develops content for a variety of external services and programs to support broad understanding of the company’s priorities and goals. Improves perception, understanding and overall reputation of the company with key internal and external audiences, promoting key business priorities. Develops creative and integrated communications strategies and content to increase brand recognition, support business units and influence company perception to increase positive customer satisfaction outcomes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Leads development and execution of social media content, providing relevant, timely and consistent messages through the company’s social media platforms. Collaborates with internal teams to develop accurate and comprehensive content with the corporate communications team, external marketing consultants and other teams including community and government relations, economic development and major accounts.

Writes, edits, and supports employee communications content and strategies including internal newsletters, intranet content, internal employee broadcasts and employee forums. Develops creative and integrated communications strategies and content to increase brand recognition, support business units and influence company perception to increase positive customer satisfaction outcomes,

Supports media relations efforts, facilitating research and background on requests to support timely and immediate responses.

Ensures all compliance aspects of position are known and followed; understands and complies with all policies, codes, and regulations applicable to position and company.

Performs related duties as assigned.

Requirements


Essential Education, Skills, and Environment
Education and Work Experience
Bachelor’s degree in journalism, marketing, communications, public relations, or related field from an accredited school and 3 years of related work experience in a communications environment.

Candidates that do not possess a bachelor’s degree must have a minimum of 7 years of related work experience in corporate communications.

Specialized Knowledge and Skills
Demonstrated knowledge of:

  • Communication principles, theory and change management
  • Social media strategy and execution

Demonstrated skills such as:

  • Excellent writer and editor
  • Analytical, proactive and strong communicator through multiple channels.
  • Flexible and thrives in a fast-paced work environment with competing priorities and deadlines.

Bilingual English/Spanish Preferred.

Equipment and Applications
PCs, word processing, spreadsheet and database software.

Compensation


Annual Salary: $64,700.00 (Min) to $76,100.00 (Mid); Up to 10% Short Term Incentive Plan target opportunity at the discretion of the company. This is a non-represented position.
