Summary
Our Sr. Corporate Accountant is a key driver in the global accounting close process, internal controls and reconciliations. In this role, you will have the opportunity to advance your knowledge of both the global accounting process and how it applies to life science manufacturing operations in an environment where the focus is not only on producing the best X-ray related products for a healthier life and providing industrial scan services that make our lives safer but also one that realizes the importance of you as a person and your development.
The ideal person for this position will have a demonstrated understanding corporate accounting, technical accounting issues including working knowledge of the applicable accounting standards, excellent technical and communication skills, and the ability to partner effectively across business functions. You move fast while keeping your attention to detail, and you tap into your problem-solving skills to support Varex’s business objectives.
Job Description
- Assist in leading the close reporting process ensuring all financial deadlines are met.
- Own and assist in aspects of monthly close, including preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, and advanced account analytics
- Quarterly balance sheet and fluctuation analysis
- Multi-entity cash - bank account reconciliations, prepaid and other current asset reconciliations, other long-term assets
- Detailed G-L account research to understand - comment on irregular patterns
- Assist with the accounting for acquisitions, divestitures and other complex accounting events
- Assist with year-end audit, and schedule requests of external auditors
- Assist in the documentation and compliance with SOX
- Prepare ad-hoc reports and perform other duties and special projects as assigned
- Drive close process improvements and lead cross functional teams Mentor and assist junior level accountants with application of accounting practices and adherence to US GAAP
REQUIREMENTS
* B.S. degree in Accounting/Finance
* 5+ years of related experience
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
· Understanding of US GAAP
· Experience with SAP
· Experience with foreign currency accounting and international locations
· Must have a strong financial close background
· Public accounting experience (1+ years)
