Looking for a fun and creative way to help make an immediate impact on a growing local business? Rosemary & Rye Catering is looking to add a part-time content creator and SEO writer to our team (10-20 hours a week). This role will report to the Marketing Manager and will be responsible for creating a wide variety of content, including (but not limited to) website content, blogs, social media posts, and marketing materials (such as advertisements, magazine editorials, email copy & more). There will also be opportunities to capture photo and video content from both styled shoots and live events. To be successful in this role, this individual needs to be a self-driven, out of the box thinker with strong persuasive writing skills and basic SEO knowledge.
This position will require some time in the office (Charleston, SC), as well as on site for our large scale events and high-end weddings, but there is opportunity for partial remote work for the right candidate. Candidates must be local or planning to relocate prior to start date.

Writing samples can consist of previous blog entries, website content, or a mock write-up (added bonus if it pertains to the hospitality industry).

Responsibilities
Include but not limited to…
- Write new and update existing website & blog content, ensuring accuracy, keyword optimization, and proper spelling/grammar/composition
- Create engaging social media content that matches our brand tone & standards
- Update ad copy as needed to match our marketing initiatives and service offerings
- Assist in copywriting creation and proofing of printed advertising materials such as service menus, event programs, promotional items, magazine editorials and more
- Organize and maintain content storage
- Maintain local listing platforms (such as Google My Business, The Knot, WeddingWire, Zola and more) with unique and up-to-date company bios, occasional posts, and assist in the creation of eloquent review responses
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (Marketing, Communications, English or related field preferred)
- 1-2+ years of experience in content writing and/or search engine optimization roles
- Understanding of SEO content writing best practices
- Self-motivated and resourceful
- Must be reliable and able to meet all deliverable deadlines with high quality work
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Hardworking with strong attention to detail
- Must have Microsoft Word or a comparable software to create content in .doc or .pdf formats
A plus if candidate has experience with
- SEO research tools (such as SEMrush)
- WordPress platform
- Hospitality industry
