Computational Research Scientist I or II, Finite Element Analysis/Heat Transfer
Job description
- Formulates research projects, develops innovative approaches, designs and implements experimental protocols related to computational models for heating and cooling of the human body.
- Develops necessary new technologies and protocols. In particular, the physics needed to capture the important phenomena that regulates the heating and cooling of the human body.
- Continuously surveys the scientific literature to generate novel ideas and advance projects and programs. Collects, processes, and interprets experimental data and model outputs.
- Prepare research proposals, progress reports, and manuscripts for submission to scientific journals.
- Present research methods and findings at appropriate meetings and scientific conferences.
- May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor. This may include attendance of and participation in required training for role.
- Demonstrated experience and expertise in developing heat transfer FEA models is required.
- Experience in developing models for animal models or humans is a plus.
- Knowledge of applicable complex scientific procedures and techniques.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to troubleshoot technical procedures.
- Ability to work independently and supervise others.
- Must have a publication track record.
- Assigned Lead: May recommend the following: employee hiring, disciplinary action, and starting salaries; provide input on employee performance evaluations.
- This position will take place primarily in an office setting.
- Doctoral Degree in Engineering, Computational Physics, Mathematics or related field.
- Level I: Minimum of 0-2 years experience required.
- Level II: Minimum of 3-5 years experience required.
