The Role:

The Compliance Manager – Internal Audit & Investigation role will be an integral part of Tides’
Compliance team, with responsibilities related to the development and maintenance of Tides’ internal audit and internal investigation functions and ensuring that compliance inquiries are addressed in an effective and efficient manner. Reporting to the Senior Director of Compliance, the Compliance Manager– Internal Audit & Investigation role will be primarily responsible for working cross-departmentally to create and manage internal audits and investigations, acting as a primary point of contact for inquiries related to Tides Network’s compliance operations, and supporting the overall administration of creating and maintain a compliance culture at Tides.

What you will do:

  • Internal Investigation Management
    • Assist in the management and maintenance of the Ethics Point platform as a system expert and point of contact.
    • Assist in the evaluation and management of reports raised, triage to the appropriate department or function and develop investigation work plans, ensuring internal investigation policies and procedures are followed.
    • Working across departments to ensure investigation of concerns raised are conducted promptly, thoroughly, and consistently.
    • Assist in conducting internal investigations, including investigation plan, document review and analysis, interviews, investigation summary of findings.
    • Work closely with the Senior Director of Compliance to identify trends or other opportunities to develop best practices and raise awareness of key compliance risks based on an analysis of reports raised.
    • Develop and maintain a speak-up program designed to encourage employees to raise reports either via the Ethics Point Helpline or through other reporting options.
  • Internal Audit Management
    • Assist in the management, maintenance, and operationalization of Tides’ internal audit program.
    • Participate in and lead audit engagements from planning, to analyzing, to testing, and to reporting.
    • Support, as needed, with the annual risk assessment process, responses to external requests from regulators and/or external auditors.
    • Finalize and communicate audit recommendations in a clear and concise manner and find opportunities for improvement in the design and effectiveness of key controls.
    • Stay up to date with evolving industry and regulatory changes impacting Tides.
    • Maintain metrics and quarterly presentations to communicate on the status of internal audits and investigations to provide input and continuous improvement of Tides’ internal audit and internal investigation programs.
    • Proactively identify training opportunities and improvements to existing policies, procedures, and practices related to internal audits and investigations.
    • Serve as the point of contact for Tides Network operational staff, answering questions about compliance matters and responding to training requests.
    • Other duties to support the compliance function as assigned.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of related work experience can be substituted for a college degree.
  • 6 years of relevant experience including experience with 501(c)(3) and 501(c)(4) and other affiliate relationships and with substantive input related to internal audits and investigations.
  • Experience with creating, leading, managing, and/or maintaining internal audits and internal investigations.
  • Experience with developing and maintaining reporting systems procedures and practices Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Salary Range
Tides is committed to providing a competitive compensation package. The starting salary for this role ranges from $104,938 to $157,386 based on geographic location, years of experience, and ensuring pay equity within the organization.
