WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

The Santander Auto Communications Lead is responsible for providing communications counsel, executive visibility, social and traditional media relations, writing, campaign management, and overall support for the business and leadership team. This role requires an integrated, multi-stakeholder approach to promoting key thought leadership, business, and community-driven milestones within the context of the broader company narrative. The role will partner across the Santander Auto and broader Santander US region to manage and execute communications campaigns that amplify priority initiatives to reinforce the business strategy. The right candidate is equal parts creative storyteller, campaign manager, execution expert and team player.

This is a high-visibility role with responsibilities to support the Auto business communications in addition to broader U.S.-wide reputation management and CSR/community communications responsibilities. This role is based in Dallas, TX and is a hybrid schedule.

Job Description:

  • Promotes and amplifies the strategy, business results, products, and solutions through dynamic communications campaigns and execution strategies.
  • Public Relations and external support for Santander Auto through holding statements, press releases, talking points, FAQs, media and event briefings, social media content, etc.
  • Serve as local market communications contact for event staffing, local market pitching, executive support, and other related activities
  • Manage social media content development and execution for Santander Auto and executive accounts
  • Provide proactive and reactive media relations support, fostering local and regional press relationships
  • Serve as San Auto Communications support contact for partners (Legal, Finance, Ops, HR, Foundation) as needed
  • Create, manage, and delivers multi-stakeholder communication presentations, plans and materials in support of the strategy and priority initiatives
  • Manages measurement and reporting for related communications campaigns
  • Evaluates, reviews, and edits communications materials for quality, completeness, accuracy, and alignment with Santander’s brand standards and the assigned business strategy

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deep experience writing strategy memos, executive presentations, social media content, bylines and thought leadership reports, infographics, and other multi-media materials
  • Manages the creation and execution of holistic communications campaigns, from inception to results reporting
  • Expert storyteller, with the ability to craft pitches that break through the noise while also protecting the Santander reputation
  • Participates on teams to plan, develop, and implement communications initiatives
  • Ability to translate complex content into relevant and resonant communications
  • Measure the success of communication strategies across multiple internal and external channels through the tracking of KPIs and benchmarking

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent relevant work experience

Work Experience:

  • 9+ years; Mix of in-house and agency experience preferred

Skills and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated ability to apply a wide variety of communication techniques
  • Ability to create effective, multi-stakeholder communications plans and targeted messaging for specific audiences
  • Ability to work in an agile environment and manage effectively through change
  • Collaborative approach to working with colleagues and strong interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to allow objective judgment and discretion as necessary
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet timeline constraints / deadlines
  • Flexibility to manage changing requirements and short timelines
  • Ability to multi-task and possesses excellent prioritization skills
