Nemours is seeking a Command Center Operator I (Shift Work), to join our Nemours Children's Health team in Wilmington, Delaware.
The Command Center Operator I monitors the operations of fire alarm and life safety systems, responder 5 emergency alert system, and building systems including mechanical, electrical, fire safety, emergency generators and automatic transfer switches, medical gas alarms, security, medical and environmental systems. In the event of variation from established parameters, makes adjustments to systems or calls in appropriate resources (in house, contractors/vendors or external agencies) to correct variations. The position receives work requests and dispatches work, makes emergency announcements, enters work orders, receives and relays call information to staff and in general assist with the flow of information in order to insure patient safety and the effective operation of key procedural and control systems.

Essential Functions:
- Command Center Operator I assigns corrective work orders to appropriate trade and escalates building automation or emergency issues to Manager/Director of Facilities as appropriate using independent judgment.
- Command Center Operator I consults with SRTs, Electricians, Plumbers and HVAC on building automation system alarms and deviations and calls in appropriate resources as needed. Command Center oversight includes N/AIDHC and the satellite clinics throughout the Delaware Valley.
- Receives and direct calls for work or assistance to proper department staff.
- Receives work requests, enters work orders into CMS system. Dispatches work requests to appropriate staff. Receives and directs calls for housekeeping services.
- Distributes contractor badges, logs service techs and vendors.
- Maintain log books covering events during shifts.
- Monitors external information from sources including news, weather, state and local emergency broadcasts.
- Maintain the equipment status and general information board in the Command Center.
- Log and distribute keys to various vehicles.
- Pages out alerts and alarms including Code Blue, Active Shooter, Code Pink alerts.
- Monitors Security system as directed. Operates CCTV and DVR equipment including PTZ cameras, recorders, security/intruder alarms Monitors and responds per procedure to fire alarm systems, smoke control, and related fire suppression systems. Assist with testing of these systems, as required. Monitors and responds to electrical systems, generators and related alarms.
- While generally based in the Command Center, may have to leave and check Mechanical Rooms, elevators, etc.
Job Requirements:
- High School Diploma required.
- Minimum of three (3) to six (6) months experience required.
- Prefer 1 year of technical education and basic knowledge of a command center setting.
- Basic mathematical ability required including mathematical operations, fractions, and ability to read and interpret graphs.
