New Horizons Credit Union's history offers a unique story of progress and growth. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Make contact with Credit Union members through In-bound/Out-bound calls regarding their delinquent loan(s) and/or negative share balances to discuss payment
  • Document all member communications and work performed, including the reason for delayed payment.
  • Possess the ability to determine and analyze the reason for delay in-order to overcome objections, and to assist the member with determining the best course of action, and repayment plan.
  • Provide professional, prompt, efficient and accurate service
  • Conduct all communications, in a professional, and respectful manner
  • Conduct all communications in accordance with credit union policy and procedures, abiding by all state and federal laws and regulations.
  • Superb attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Great communication skills both external and internal
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office applications
  • Work well under pressure
  • Ability to perform detailed analytical work regarding foreclosures, repossessions, and other legal work
  • Ability to perform basic skip tracing tasks
  • Provide updates and make recommendations to management on a regular basis
  • Additional duties as assigned

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); Associates Degree or higher preferred. Previous Collections, Call Center and/or Sales experience preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend detailed instructions, operating manuals, correspondence, and memos. Ability to write routine correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to members, clients, and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out detailed instructions in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with officials, employees, examiners, auditors, and members.
