Typical Duties, Tasks, and Activities

· Review drawings and help decide the equipment to best process the part

· Prepare preliminary cycle times for estimating purposes

· Work with plants to design tooling, fixtures and help in processing parts

· Experienced in setting up lathes and/or vertical milling machines

· Attend customer calls for technical reviews

· Evaluate new equipment and make recommendations to pick the right equipment

· Develop process controls required for stable production processes

· Setup jobs, work with quality and production to get initial parts to specification and release to production

· Strong math skills for inputting specific dimensions and figures into the CNC machines – Haas, Okuma, Mori-Seiki

· Should be proficient with software tools such as SolidWorks, Esprit, MasterCam and variety of other tools.

· Ability to program Lathes and/or Vertical Milling Machines

· Review drawings and help decide the equipment to best process the part

· Optimize cycle times and improve productivity as well as setup stable production processes

· Ability to analyze the information provided on blueprints or other explanatory documents to make sure the final product matches the draft

· Strong computer skills as CNC Operators use computer software to control machinery

· Understanding of how the machine works to maintain the machinery for which they are responsible and ensure it functions properly.

· Problem-solving skills in order to detect issues in the creation process and find solutions to ensure the machinery creates the product provided in the draft

· Evaluation of data to determine equipment/process utilization

· Perform Ad-hoc projects related to machining business growth

Qualifications (Education and Experience)

· 5+ years experience in CNC Machining Plant is a must

· Degree, optional

Competencies

· Excellent mechanical aptitude and strong knowledge of CNC Machining process and equipment, a must

· Familiar with CNC equipment types and processes

· Strong problem solving/root cause analysis skills

· CNC programing experience, a plus

· Basic 2D and/or 3D CAD skills

· Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions

• Effective communication skills, both verbally and written

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
