Summary:
Provides staff clinical supervision. Assist the Manager of Respiratory Services in the day-to-day operations and is available to work across the WCHN Network. Monitors and enforces performance improvement initiatives. Ability to work across the Western CT Health Network related departments at Danbury and New Milford Hospitals.
Required:
Respiratory Care Practitioner
Minimum Experience: five years
Associate's Level Degree
Responsibilities:
1. Supervises the overall operation of the department. Ensures the department operates within the budgeted levels established each fiscal year.
2. Ensures accuracy of daily billing; maintains inventory of equipment and manages supply orders.
3. Oversees assignments to assure appropriate level of work when indicated. Allocates the workload to ensure that all service areas are covered. Adjusts the assignments to compensate for changes in workload.
4. Participates in the department's continuing education program and assures staff accountability and adherence.
5. Manages department and program plans/goals consistent with governmental standards, accreditation requirements and within the established budget/business plan guidelines.
6. Evaluates and partners with Manager/Human Resources to initiate coaching and corrective action to ensure the performance of respiratory services is within the guidelines of hospital/department policy and procedure.
7. Coordinates and monitors performance improvement initiatives.
8. Participates in the department's management on-call system when applicable. Provides supervisory direction to the staff during the off-hours, holidays and weekends.
9. Adheres to the organization's established expectations with regard to hospital values supervisory/management standards.
10. Acts as clinical resource within and outside of the department. Represents department on committees as appointed by the manager.
11. Project leadership as appointed by the manager.
12. Develops and maintains policies and procedures for the clinical and administrative areas of the department.
13. Reviews occurrence reports and assists manager in issue investigations.
14. Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position, including ongoing verification of staff.

CPR/PALS/ACLS instructor
Basic Microsoft Office tools
Previous supervisory or leadership experience.
Bachelor of Science Degree preferred.
