Hospital in Southern, CA is seeking a Clinical Nurse Specialist for their Med Surg Oncology team.You'll need to be: Masters' prepared Clinical Nurse Specialist with your CNS certification . Oncology experience is required. Will consider new grads or experience Clinical Nurse Specialists. CA RN license is preferred. ONS Chemotherapy Immunotherapy certificate (current preferred, if it lapsed not a problem).

Job Summary: As a Advanced Practice Provider, CNS is an clinical expert for complex patients on a specific service (Med Surg, Oncology, ICU, etc.). You will consult with Physicians to create a care plan, train staff to ensure they follow the plan. You will be a senior member of the team who is well respected for their knowledge. F ollow up on patients and document any changes in outcomes and recommend new approaches. In addition, the CNS shares information with other departments to identify trends and needs for intervention. Provide input to department managers on cases. And when needed, the CNS presents at shift hand-off to document special cases.
