The Clerk II – Paratransit provides receptionist duties for the Paratransit Department and maintains the Paratransit client database to ensure accurate and up to date eligibility information. This position also performs other functions as required to assist the program in providing Paratransit services to its clients.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Serve as receptionist for the Transit Plus office, answer Paratransit department calls, provide information about Transit Plus service and process Transit Plus ticket transactions.
2. Schedule appointments for functional assessments and prepare assessment paperwork.
3. Maintain Paratransit appointment database including documentation of the scheduling and assessment outcomes for use in report generation.
4. Maintain client database including extending eligibility dates for renewals, termination dates for ineligible/deceased clients and verifying new client information.
5. Create and update client files.
6. Enter new client information on a timely basis to ensure client’s ability to utilize Paratransit services.
7. Process Transit Plus ID cards as needed.
8. Arrange transportation for assessment clients.
9. Open, process and distribute daily mail.
10. Order office supplies.
11. Assemble client materials.
12. Perform other duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Must pass alphanumeric typing exam.
2. Must pass data accuracy exam.
3. Must have excellent attendance and work record.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
1. Knowledge of medical terminology and the laws and regulations pertaining to patient confidentiality preferred.
2. Knowledge of ADA Paratransit eligibility criteria preferred.
3. Ability to think logically and make decisions.
4. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
5. Ability to use Microsoft Office and other menu-driven computer applications.
6. Ability to deal courteously and professionally with the public.
7. Ability to maintain regular and acceptable attendance as determined by MTS.
8. Ability to use basic office equipment for faxing, printing and scanning.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS:
1. Ability to visually review applications.
2. Must have good finger and manual dexterity.
3. Must have the ability to provide both oral and written communications requiring good verbal expression, satisfactory hearing and eyesight clarity sufficient to read.
